Walter Russell Mead: 'The Anglosphere in Crisis?' | 2008 CD Kemp Lecture in Melbourne

The current world economic conditions have been described as 'the most difficult since the 1930s.'
There are predictions of the demise of 'capitalism as we know it.' The end of the ‘Anglosphere era’ is anticipated.

 

The 2008 CD Kemp Lecture will be delivered by Walter Russell Mead, Senior Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York. He will examine the issues that will determine the future of the global economic and political system.

Speakers

Walter Russell Mead is one of the world's foremost commentators on economics and geopolitics. 

His most recent book God and Gold: Britain, America and the Making of the Modern World was selected by The Economist as one of the best books of 2007. It examines the financial and political emergence over 400 years of the countries that comprise the 'Anglosphere' (Britain and the United States).  Walter writes regularly for The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and The Washington Post.
